We are very very close to opening the journal system on WhiteBlaze to the public. We are fine tuning one last item and I am also trying to write up some documentation for the basic ins and outs of the system. The journalist photo gallery will be a different gallery then the WhiteBlaze gallery.

You are probably wondering why I am telling you this now and not just waiting until the journals are ready. No I am not announcing this just to tease everyone. The reason I am giving a heads up is because I want to let everyone know that has a test journal on the site that is not using it as a real live journal that they are hiking with now is going to have it deleted so we can start new with the journals.

Those of you that do not want your journal deleted need to get a hold of me and let me know not to delete your journal ASAP.

Delete mine, I am ready to start one for real as my 2008 thru-hike journal.

I deleted all the ones that were obviously test journals.
I created a whole separate area for Section Hikers.
I still have the old section hiker journals archived for a short period of time for those that need access to them to copy to transfer them to the new section.

Not sure yet, but I think it ought to be a perk IMO.

Rock, are you officially retired yet???

I have my request in and I am awaiting orders. I am now on a very long leave I have been in need of for some time. I should have my orders by the end of the month and start my terminal leave around 26 January. This means I have to start my thru-hike earlier in the season than I planned, but I plan to be out there around the first of Febuary 2008.
