Does anyone know if there's going to be a reprint of the out-of-print Beyond Backpacking? I'm willing to pay the reasonable price of a paperback bestseller, but I'm not willing to pay ~$75 for a used book on eBay, even the works of Moses in paperback shouldn't command that kind of loot.;) (I'd even be willing to pay for an ebook edition if available)
There seems to be tons of demand for it, and it seems counterintuitive that a book that everyone recommends and is such a classic staple in it's genre is out of print all this time and only available at inflated collectible prices. The clerk at Borders bookstore told me that this book in unread condition would set me back about $175!
I figured this might have been discussed before, but searching the forums for "beyond backpacking" in quotes omits "beyond" saying it's a common word, and then searches for the single word "backpacking" (that's less common?):p
If no reprint is planned, is there a reasonable alternative for those of us who only want a book not a collectors item? How does "Lightweight Backpacking & Camping: A Field Guide to Wilderness Hiking Equipment, Technique, and Style" compare?
