I agree the JMT is a fantastic trail, scenery supreme and one of the longest stretch of trail that doesn't cross a road.

Lots of hungry bears just waiting to steal your food too, if you're not careful.

This is the trail I dream of hiking after I complete all of my AT sections in another 15 years!

I hiked the JMT this summer also, and had a great time. The scenery is simply stunning.

The JMT is as good as it gets. If you want some solitude, head north with the handful of PCT hikers in early-mid June. Incredible scenery, lots of solitude. Just have to deal with the snow, which is part of the fun. 10 days for the JMT is pretty quick, but I suppose not having a lot of snow helps a bit.
