View Full Version : We can't let the south have all the fun.

I had a great time at this year's SoRuck and a good time at the Gathering this weekend. ;) So I'd like to see if those of us in the North East Ohio area could get together for a day hike and a meal in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park before Fall is completely over.

I'm thinking maybe we try to do this twice a year. (Okay, I'd really like to do this every weekend, but I know that's unrealistic.) Anybody want to start by suggesting a good date?

Hey 1 Pint! So I guess this means your ankle is healing! :banana That's great. I have been wondering about you.

I'm in Youngstown---must be fairly close to you. Sorry my fall is pretty much booked. If I can possibly get out before hunting season closes in, I'd like to do the Quehanna Trail (75 mile loop in N Central PA). Have you checked out the Northeast Ohio Backpacking Club (just google for the web site)?

Hi Creek Dancer! I asked about you this weekend. Heard you had to work... at least I think that's what I remember being told? Sorry you couldn't make the Gathering. I hope to see you in January at SoRuck.

handlebar - Yeah, I'm just outside the CVNP. No, haven't checked out that club. Guess I'll see about that. I know there are often groups getting together in the park for day hikes, but I was hoping for an AT tie-in. That's why I was starting with you guys.

Cuffs?! Is that you ALHikerGal?? Good to hear from you! How's the Pinohi treating you these days? Isn't that the trail you just did again?

yeah, HOI, sorry I stood right next to you several times and we still didn't really have much of a chance. I know you wouldn't miss SoRuck, so we'll just have to make time then!

Hey Laura,
I am assisting with a begginers backpacking class this weekend (thru the Cleveland MetroParks and CVNP). So I will be back in the woods, but let me know if you have any other trips in mind. I would be interested.

Okay Boo-Boo. If I'm able to put something together, I'll send you a PM. Glad you're getting out into the woods and sharing your love with others.

1Pint, how'd you get your replied-to quotes to format in table cells the way you did? I've never seen that on WhiteBlaze. Just curious!

Rain Man - After I hit "reply", and the draft box popped up, I scrolled down to the additional replies (you know how it always lets you view the most recent 10 replies or whatever?) and highlighted it by left clicking and dragging my mouse over the person's comments and name. Then I did control-c to copy and control-v to paste it into the draft/composing box.

Nothing special, really. Never thought of myself as a trend setter. We'll have to see if it catches on.

Hey Two Speed - How's that starship - uh, I mean - house coming along?Unfortunately backpacking has superseded the PRP* for the winter hiking season.

BTW, Max Patch was awesome this weekend. Stars galore!

After I hit "reply", and the draft box popped up, I scrolled down to the additional replies . . . We'll have to see if it catches on.That's prolly WAAAAY too complicated for me, and prolly will catch on.

Sooo, how's the ankle coming along?

*PRP = perpetual remodeling project

Whoa! Whoa! And Whoa by dang. If you think this will let out of your obligations to attend Southern Ruck you are seriously mistaken young lady.

"North East Ohio Get-together" all you want to, but git yore self south this winter....bring the rest of them Buckeyes with you for some real southern hospitality.

As far as I am concerned, the buckeyes can have all the fun they want, except for this Saturday. I'm hoping for a reprise of 1998.:banana

Handlebar,

I am hiking a portion of the Quehanna Trail this weekend with my daughter. If you need or want a report on conditions, let me know.
