I know this has been ask before i think i am gone to do the approach trail.I was gone to get drop off at the top of the falls do any of you know how long it take to the top. Just need to know if i should bring four or five days worth of food :-? Thank

The approach trail..I think...is only 8.8 mi It is a pull but should only take you 4-5 hours depending on your pace and hiking shape. I hope I understood your question right.

I hiked the approach trail to start off my 2006 thru-hike. It took me about 45min. -1 hour of slow hiking to get to the top of the falls and 6-7 to get to the first shelter at the base of Springer Mnt. in the park (9-10 miles?). Its about another mile to the top of Springer mnt. and the starting terminus point for the A.T. Start from the Ranger station/visitor center and enter through the stone arch-its a classic start.

Hi thank for the help yes i want start at the top of the falls i been walking everwhere i go to help me get in shape i walk at a petty good clip that with out my backpack. I got my pack weight down to 35 Lbs that with food and water and winter gear. :-?
