Hey all

We cruised through Monson Friday evening on our way to Moosehead Lake. We stopped at the General Store to visit with Tim for a few and take in some Friday evening jam music. Excellent.

Just wanted to pass along:

1. Both Tim and Julie were happy to see us so we must have done something right that weekend. :D

2. Julie expressed the thought that they hope we come back

3. We ended up with four (i think) trash bags of returnables from the weekend. We gave them to Tim who donated them to the Monson Rec Fund. He said this past week, he ordered full uniforms for the kids that play rec basketball in Monson using among other funds, money from cans and bottles. So our contribution wasn't real big, but it was used in a cool and concrete way. He said it will be the first time since he returned to Monson in '83 that the kids will have full uniforms. Not just shirts.

4. Lastly, I took a photo of Tim and Uncle Silly playing for the gathered in front of the fire Saturday evening. I PhotoShopped "Tim and Uncle Silly - WhiteBlaze Weekend - September 15, 2007" on it, made it up as a 5X7, and framed it. We gave it to them Friday evening. When we stopped in on our way back Sunday, he apologized profusely for not having it hanging on the wall already.

Great job everyone!!!!

I hope we get to do the Whiteblaze Feed in Monson again next year. We had a lot of fun and a good turn out. Maybe we can give back to the community then also.

My votes for second weekend in June. Only because that's when I will be there, my favorite trail town.:)

hey now! wish you'd said hello, i managed to hike back into Monson that weekend and hit the jam again. two fridays in a row, pretty good for a North Cackalacky boy.

No, for some reason I thought you were cruising back through a week after the hiker feed. Guess I read the date on your post and thought "sept" instead of "oct" ... my second Friday jam in Monson would've been 9-21. :D

back home. those New Englanders are awesome and all, but i knew if i stayed up there through the World Series i'd be in serious trouble (as a baseball non-fan and a southerner i'd get lynched). :D

Naw Silly. We wouldn't understand if we found out you weren't a baseball fan but we wouldn't lynch you. Unless you were wearing a New York Yankee cap that is. Then all bets are off. :D:D

Hey Scribe,

I was in Tim's store in Monson today after a trail maint. trip to my section. I didn't see that picture up on the wall yet but we were not in the store very long. All's well in Monson. Cold though.
