Anyone ever cut down a full length ridgerest pad to make it 3/4 length? Is the cut end prone to fraying if you do cut it down yourself?

I hack apart my foam sleeping pad every time I get a new one. Streamweaver 12-03-2007, 17:54 Yeah,i cut my ridgerest down to 51" or so a few years ago and its still the same as when cut it.No problem at all. Darwin again 12-03-2007, 19:08 Scissors. No problem, no fraying. Mags 12-03-2007, 21:44 Cutting down a foam pad is something many people do, myself included. I use a blue foam pad (cheap and light) currently and have cut down foam z-rests as well. Save the foam pieces as they come in handy for winter camping (stove platform when surrounded by tin foil), pot cozies and other uses as well. |
