i give. i know ive seen a list, in order, of all the atc maps..but i cant find in nowheres! a little help?

Go to the ATC site, www.atconf.org

*Click where it says "Ultimate Trail Store"

*Click where it says Guidebooks, Maps, and Planning

*Where is says "Narrow Your Search", click on "Official A.T. Maps"

If you do this, you'll find all the maps listed.

yeah, i saw that but its not what i was thinking of. somoeone..i thought it was here on whiteblaze...had a list of the maps from georgia to maine. im being picky but...i KNOW i saw it somewhere

Well, it sounds interesting.

If you have the time, write out the complete list and post it here, with a brief description of each map and the section of Trail it covers. I think this would be interesting to see for a lot of folks. It also means that in future, if anyone asks about a particular location or particular section, and wonders which official A.T. map contains the info, the info will always be readily available here at WB.

that sounds like a good idea. i dont know about an article, but i will certainly share what info i come up with. already i see an error in the maine map set, 2004 edition. is there a place, on whiteblaze, atc or elsewhere, where we can report such errors?

the maps i got this year from atc differ a bit from the list in my atc thru-hike planner, 2005 edition. heres what i got:
Maine set covers entire state of Maine starting at Katahdin.
Consists of maps 1 thru 7, from north to south, (2004 edition)and one guidebook (14th edition)
Map 7 is improperly marked on the cover fold to cover the same area covered by map 6 but the actual map seems correct.

New Hampshire/Vermont set covers both states.
Consists of maps 1 thru 8, in 3 “booklets” (2001 edition)

Massachusetts/Connecticut set covers both states.
Consists of mass. Maps 1 thru 10 and conn. Maps 1 thru 6 in three total “booklets” (2000 edition)

New York/new jersey set covers both states.
Consists of maps 1 thru 4 in 2 “booklets”. (2007 edition)

Pennsylvania set covers entire state and consists of map sections 1 thru 14 on 5 “booklets”.
(Sections 1-8 1998 edition)
Here where it gets confusing...
Starting with Pennsylvania Sections 9 thru 11 the maps are organized numerically.
Map 1 includes PA sections 9 thru 11 (2007 edition)
Map 2 includes PA sections 12 and 13 (2004 edition)
Map 3 contains PA section 14 (2007 edition)

The map set continues south thru Maryland, west Virginia and into Virginia.
Maps 5 and 6 consist of Maryland sections 1 thru 7. (2006 edition)
Map 7 consists of W. VA and Northern VA. sections 1 and 2. (2004 edition)
Map 8 consists of Northern VA. Sections 3 thru 5 (2006 edition)
Map 9 consists of the Shenandoah National Park sections 1 and 2 (2005 edition)
Map 10 consists of the Shenandoah National Park sections 3 thru 5 (2003 edition)
Map 11 consists of the Shenandoah National Park sections 6 thru 9 (2007 edition)

The southern half of virginia consists of map booklets 1-5, from blank to waynesboro.
(This map set runs south to north.)
(Maps 1 and 2 are 2007 editions)
(Maps 3 thru 5 are 2001 editions)

The Tennessee/North Carolina set consists of maps 1thru 4 on 2 booklets.
(2005 edition)

Great Smokey Mountain National Park map (National Geographic 2004 edition)

Bly Gap to Fontana Dam (2004 edition)
Springer to Bly Gap (2004 edition)
