REMEMBER M.E.
A CEREMONIAL HIKE WALK
Sunday, January 20, 2008 10:00 a.m.
MEEKS PARK -BLAISVILLE GEORGIA
DIRECTIONS: 1/2 MILES WEST OF DOWNTOWN BLAIRSVILLE OFF HWY 515. FROM McDONALDS GO WEST, SECOND LEFT
DUE TO THE OVERWHELMING RESPONSE TO THIS HIKE, WE HAVE BEEN ASKED TO HOLD A CERMONIAL WALK AT MEEKS PARK. WHERE A NATIVE AMERICAN SMUDGING CEREMONY WILL BE HELD.
WE HAVE FAR UNDERESTIMATED THE IMPACT OF WHAT HAS OCCURRED OVER THE PAST WEEK ON OUR COMMUNITY, STATE, NATION. WHAT WE THOUGHT WOULD BE 75-100 PEOPLE APPEARS TO BE GROWING. IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY CONCERNS, A DECISION HAS BEEN MADE TO MOVE THIS CEREMONY TO MEEKS PARK, WHERE PARKING IS PLENTIFUL FOR ALL WHO WHO WANT TO PARTICIPATE.

“A comrade has fallen, and a trail angel has risen…. one whose gentle kind spirit will endure the passing of time forever.
Today this angel dances along a path of peace and joy forever watching over those who simply want to walk… who simply want to live.”
Billy B. Bumblefoot.
Please join our community in honor of the spirit of Meredith Emerson and the spirit of the trail.
NATIVE AMERICAN DRUMS ARE WELCOMED.
It is our hope that many people will strap on their boots, dust off their hiking poles and make a path to Mountain Crossings @ Walasi-Yi to remember Meredith Emerson and light up the mountain with the joy of life.
Children welcomed and encouraged.
NOTE: We will have experts on hand to answer questions about trail safety and land navigation.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP WITH THIS EVENT PLEASE EMAIL US AT THE ABOVE ADDRESS.
