Has anyone used a nylon stocking to prefilter water? In the past I've run water through a coffee filter into my hydration bladder to get the chunks out and then treat with Klear Water. I'm wondering if the stocking would replace the dozen or more coffee filters I carry for a week trip.

I tried it after reading about it on this site. Worked great.

Fishnet stockings really don't work well in this application.
