MOWGLI 01-29-2008, 09:20 I believe they were both tragically killed in separate biking accidents in Alabama. http://www.aldha.org/annie03.htm I didn't know them, but they are still family. Very sad. whiterockjock 01-29-2008, 09:32 I am very sorry to hear that, I saw them in the video a few years back and thought I came across them again somewhere in the web (maybe a PCT site). What a shame! john gault 01-29-2008, 09:32 I believe they were both tragically killed in separate biking accidents in Alabama. http://www.aldha.org/annie03.htm I didn't know them, but they are still family. If this is the couple I'm thinking of, you might find out more information on this website: www.crazyguyonabike.com (http://www.crazyguyonabike.com) GGS2 01-29-2008, 11:39 http://www.aldha.org/larry05.htm Mags 01-29-2008, 11:52 I met and spent some time with Larry at an ALDHA East Gathering a few years ago. Always smiling, easy to talk to, all around nice person. A tragedy to say the least. chief 02-19-2008, 23:53 Mowgli is correct, they were both killed in seperate bike accidents a few years apart. Funny, we lived in the same town for years, but I first met them one cold night in the Smokies in 2000. I can tell you this, Annie and Larry McDuff were well loved and hugely respected in these parts and still are. Witness to this is the recently completed Eastern Shore Trail (walking and bicycling) is named the McDuff Trail in their memory. As an aside, the same kid who ran down and killed Larry went on to kill 2 other bikers just last year. dessertrat 02-19-2008, 23:55 As an aside, the same kid who ran down and killed Larry went on to kill 2 other bikers just last year.:mad::( take-a-knee 02-20-2008, 00:19 :mad::( He probably did it on purpose, I've known two people who were crippled for life, one a paraplegic, from being run over by "inattentive" drivers. Most road bikers here in GA won't ride alone, the fat punks like to "door" a lone cyclist. rainmaker 02-20-2008, 23:01 Mowgli is correct, they were both killed in seperate bike accidents a few years apart. Tinker 02-21-2008, 10:32 I read an article in the ATC news about Larry's death (and Annie's earlier). It seems that the driver who hit Larry was forgiven by his family. I don't know if there was any action taken against him by the state. ' If he ran down other cyclists after haven been forgiven, it is unforgivable. If this is true, he needs to do some serious time, or at least time in a psych. ward. |
