I recently got a skillet so i could expand my options for trail food. after some experimenting with my alcohol stove, i found i can scramble some eggs w/ it, but it might be cumbersome. (i had to use my coke can stove flipped over, as in normal mode it was waaay to hot and cooked too fast. i am doubting my ability to fry a steak or chicken w/ this set up. can yall list your set ups for grilling stuff like this?

i should clarify: its an msr black lite frying pan i am trying to use...
If its to hot then hold your frying pan farther from the flame.

I cut a "washer"- shape from a can bottom and use it to tame my alcohol burner enough to simmer and to griddle in my Blacklight pan. Maybe try searching the archives for "simmer" or "simmer ring". There have been discussions of simmer attachments for various DIY stove designs, as well as commercial stoves which are simmer- able.
