Sure. They're easier for rescue crews to get off.

No you're fine just start staying in shelters and quit using trekking poles.

Actually you're carrying too much weight and that's causing the problem. Anyone carrying a base weight over 5 pounds will experience the same symptoms.

I've experienced all those symptoms at the same time except for the uncontrollable diarrhea - usually when hiking "dry" and shooting for the next water source to "camel-up". The later symptom of soiling myself usually occurs when I get to a dry water source . This is then followed by uncontrollable weeping. In my case the trail runners were not the solution.
Your shoes aren't the problem -- you're obviously using the wrong guidebook.
It’s because you are carrying a pack, the human body was not designed for a big weight on it’s back. Next time you go out backpacking (I guess you will have to call it something else) just fill the pockets of your pants and enjoy the freedom.

You know those canned burgers may be good, but I’m in no hurry to find out.

You need to take a weekend off. Veg out, watch the Stupor Bowl, and be sure to root for the Patriots! You'll be fine by Monday.

Your symptoms sound like golf withdrawal.
The old type golf shoes, with the metal spikes; not those candyass plastic type.
Great traction, good for removing clingons, toothpick, the list is endless, with these multi-purpose shoes.
Besides, L. Wolf might be available to get in a quick nine in Damascus.

Have you considered using a tarptent? They are lightweight, airy & give great coverage. I'm positive they are the answer to world peace.

In the Shire perhaps, but these are crude by Lothlorien standards.

That is the penalty for using trekking poles and punching all those ugly holes alongside the trail.
Put rubbers on your tips and it will clear up.:D

Most of those symptoms are caused by internal frame packs. That hardly ever happened before they became popular.

I see you hail from Vermont.
You're undoubtedly getting overwhelmed with mailings and obnoxious phone calls from the Obama and Clinton campaigns.
My suggestion: Avoid the mailbox, don't answer the phone, and vote for John McCain, and the nasty syptoms you just described should disappear on or about primary day, which in your case is 4 March. Best wishes.
You need to take a weekend off. Veg out, watch the Stupor Bowl, and be sure to root for the Patriots! You'll be fine by Monday.
Yep, I think they have enough room for one more bandwagoner. :D
Oh, And a steady diet of KFC (The Stumpknocker Diet) should do the trick.
Good luck! :D
Thanks for all the help, folks - the last thing I wanted to do was bother my doctor with petty medical issues.
I think I'll ooze into my waders, slosh on down the road and load up my old Kelty with some KFC (plenty of free napkins!), cross the street for some whiskey, beer, and ramen noodles, and slip into a trans-fat/alcohol/sodium coma while I watch the Giants eke out a victory over the Patriots.
I'll freshen up on Monday morning with a bowl of tang.
I really thought trail runners was the correct answer.

Runners will not cure the runs.

Firewater will certainly deal with the symptoms.
For a cure, let your dog carry your pack. You just carry the gun to protect the dog.

Are you cooking with gas?
Or, is your cooking giving you gas?
Cortex, you mean.
Or Kotex.
Useful for cushioning, a for collecting whatever oozes out of blisters.

:-? Definitely. They will give you a better chance of outrunning your buddy and then the bear will be on his chest, shaking him about causing the blurred vision & incoherent speech, and the natural side effect of uncontrollable release of intestine contents. You should remain symptom free. :D
RR,
Best diagnosis and prescription yet. :D
p.s. Someone oughta check on Deadeye, or do you figure the bears let 'em go by now?

Dang, now I'm having symptoms! Blurred vision, chest pain, and a splitting headache. The headache is from banging my head against the wall.
Congratulations to all the Giants fans out there. Your team played a tremendous game and deserved to win. Now I'm going to say goodbye to football season and hello to hiking season! That should cure the symptoms. :banana

I think you should switch your underwear. Try a size larger.
