The "Church of the Mountain Hostel" in DWG isn't the worst AT hostel I've stayed at. It's tidy and doesn't smell too bad, and it's practically on the trail. There's a B&B down the road that goes past the High Point State Park HQ. I forget the details at the moment... I didn't stay there. It's listed in the ALDHA guide and maybe the others.
