I'm hiking this section later this week and was wondering if there's a good water source or 2 close to the trail along the way...

TN/NC should be flowing a bit better with recent storms.

Just passed Pigeon River is Standing Bear Farm Hostel, just a short ways off trail.
In between Max Patch and Lemon Gap is a stretch of Roaring Fork Creek. The suggested shelter gathering point is .5 miles south of Roaring Fork Shelter. There are several springs and creeks in this area.

You should have no problem with water at this time of year.
