do hostels provide showers?

View Full Version : another dumb question TrippinBTM 02-10-2008, 19:38 do hostels provide showers? A-Train 02-10-2008, 19:40 Yes, most do. Some for a seperate charge than the lodging. TrippinBTM 02-10-2008, 19:41 thats a relief, haha. didn't want to have to motel it to get clean, even just now and then... Appalachian Tater 02-10-2008, 19:42 Yes, but you may want some shower shoes. Also, there is a section in the back of the ALDHA Companion with a table of cheap places to take showers and wash clothes along the trail. Invaluable for anyone on a tight budget. Terry7 02-11-2008, 19:38 One of the smartest things I came across was at the N.O.C. In the common shower room was a washer and dryer. Now that is a great idea, you can wash evey thing while you was yourself. Blissful 02-11-2008, 20:14 Yes, but you may want some shower shoes. Really? I never thought to use shower shoes once...you're so dirty anyway all the time it seems...even with a shower...or you get dirty real quick and so does your feet wearing the same socks day in and day out and putting feet in wet trail runners or boots - something sure to grow in there and more likely than a shower stall, I'd think. warraghiyagey 02-11-2008, 20:16 Really? Seriously, whatever rinses off me is going to kill anything on the floor anyway.:D Red Hat 02-12-2008, 10:17 More than one hiker has shared athelete's foot... wear the shower shoes. I like my Crocs... DawnTreader 02-12-2008, 10:45 sometimes I wore crocs in the hostel shower, sometimes I didn't, and sometimes I just didn't shower.. quasarr 02-12-2008, 22:59 I've been on swim team through high school and college, and been through so many locker rooms and showers that I could hardly count them all. I never wear shower shoes, but I've never gotten a foot ailment. Don't know why! super strong feet? exposed so long I became immune? just lucky? :-? gungho 02-13-2008, 19:01 I always use to Crocs anytime I am using a public shower. I just like to take care of the feet:) hopefulhiker 02-13-2008, 19:49 Partnership shelter has a solar shower, so does Woods Hole hostel. Appalachian Tater 02-13-2008, 19:58 Partnership shelter has a solar shower, so does Woods Hole hostel.501, Eckville, and Blackburn Trail Center have solar showers. The "Secret Shelter" has a regular shower. WalkinHome 02-14-2008, 12:53 Maybe not in hostels but don't forget the coin operated showers along the trail. |
