Hikerhead and I hiked in the White Mts. Sunday-Wednesday. In the relatively brief moment we were on the AT on Tuesday, Sept. 2 south of Zealand Hut in mid-day, we met about 10 NOBO thrus. Can't remember all but here's what I remember:
Yahtzee (he admitted to blue-blazing)
Jigsaw (a section hiker finishing the trail this year - not the same Jigsaw who hikes with Jaybird)
Softball
Zen
Chipmunk
Muleskinner or Muleteam - Mulesomething
Almost Maine
I was on the summit of Mt Washington on my motorcycle on Tuesday september 2nd, I had a thru hiker ask me about riding my bike up the mountain because he wanted to ride his bike up when he came back...can't remember for the life of me what his name was though :(

That is where we left them. At Ron Franklins place.
We stayed with them through our first section hike.
You may recognize us from the pics in my gallery.
We had breakfast with you guys if I'm not mistaken. It is just me now. Shalako has went a seperate way in life. I am headed back out at the end of the month and coming south for some mind clearing.

Vagus and I are hoping to get out on the trail to do some trail magic while in VA this weekend if it works out... can anyone tell me if any SOBOs are in VA yet? If so, whereabouts?
Only one I knew was in VA was Alpine Strider, but she already left Damascus and is now in TN. Most of the others are still in PA or further north.
Red Hat, is this the same Alpine Strider that did a thru last year too? Lady from Germany with blonde hair? We met her on our section and spent a little time talking to her at a water spot between Jerry Cabin and Little Laurel. Nice lady. There is a pic of her in my small gallery.
I was in central SNP this weekend and met several southbound, incl. one who said he was 17th through Harper's Ferry.

Yes it is, she went NOBO last year and SOBO this year. Fast!

Anyone seen team hollywood? This is the couple that the German film crew was following.
Also what about Shrepa Dan? The last time I heard he was talking about leaving the trail.
Thought I saw an entry from Sherpa Dan at Carlo Col in Maine just after you cross in. As far as i know he is still out

My wife and I went out for the weekend to over night at the Leroy A Smith Shelter, in the rain, and ran into Oreo. Nice guy. I feel a little bad for him since when he asked me if we knew what the weather was going to be the next couple days, I told him for what we knew and heard it was supposed to be mostly sunny on Sunday... It turned out to rain cats and dogs all day Sunday. Sorry.:(

Sorry for the delay but here it is anyway.
I met Sweet Tea and Clemson at the Tom Floyd Wayside back on the 19th. They were just wrapping up a North Bound trip through the park with their girlfriends and were going to shuttle back down to where they had gotten off before so they should be down near or past Roanoke by now i would think.

I met the following South Bounders
23 Sep--Spoonfull and Skeeter about 7 miles North of the James River in Va. and German Tourist about 10 miles north of the James. German Tourist was completing the Grand Slam. She's off to Australia afterwards to do some hiking.
24 Sep--E.T. and Husban and Wife near Hwy 60 in Virginia. Husban and Wife were slacking and they were literally running down the trail.
25 Sep--Sunday a few miles south of Fish hatchery Rd. Which is about 37 Miles north of the James River
28 Sep--Carrot Top stayed the night at Dutch Hous B&B in Montebello, Va. He was going to Slack on the 29th from Hwy 60 back to Fish Hatchery Road. He was slacking with a section hiker whose name I did not get.
29 Sep--King Charles was breaking Camp at the Maupin Ridge Shelter. I'm not sure he is a full South Bounder though.

I was out hiking near Wawayanda yesterday. We got about a half inch of wet snow and sleet yesterday combined with some chilling wind. I met Phil and Nate "The Brothers." They are SOBO and were heading into Unionville. Many trees were hanging down over the trail, but the snow on the Autumn colors was awesome.
Happy hiking!
