I have an MSR pocket rocket that uses canister fuel. Would there be a problem reliably getting fuel along the way on a thru hike? Any thoughts about this type of stove vs. other options?

It's what most thru-hikers use nowadays. In general, canisters are easy to find. (Though not so easy between, say, Harpers Ferry and DWG.)
