The're back..................
PS. learn how to use a broom.....
But it sounds like they're eating well.
That's better than my meals here at home.

What happened to them? They are hilarious. I'm really surprised they made it to Gatlinburg. But an entry in Gatlinburg on the 17th, and then a howdy today? Did they quit?
he seems to be struggling with the notion of hiking his own hike

Oh yeah, I liked how she thought Ron Haven had left all the messages on her journal guest book. These folks are obviously oblivious to white blaze or any other hiker community other than trail journals? And did anyone notice her comment about Ron's "services not be recommended anywhere in journals or books". Hello? I think that is an incorrect statement isn't it?

Best quote ever on Trail Journals:
"So far the shelters have been very spacious, configured slave-ship style for 7 hikers upstairs and 7 downstairs. "
Who says that???
They seem grateful for a number of service providers. Sure must be spending a lot of money on them...

While she does seem to be quite the whiner...they are still out there walking. After 30 days they are still at it.
Wish it was me.
The male half sure doesnt have much to say and has yet to smile in any photo!
Shared space with them at the Springer Mt Shelter back on President's Weekend. After eatting lipton instant soup, I watched them cooking up and eatting Organic pasta and assorted other foods. They gave me ideas for restock list for my trip. Both were plesant and wish them well. Glad to see there still out there ... wish I was out there instead of being teathered to a desk in a windowless office 5 days a week.

March 17th in Gatlinburg and no other updates except a "howdy" on the 28th? Looks like they may have given up journaling or the trail.

Dang people, can't we give these people a rest? Let them hike...............
These 2 baboons are nothing but trouble makers. They aren't hikers and they are not enjoying nothing. They caused problems for good trail provivers at Neels Gap,Helen,Franklin,& Gatlinburg.
These two freeks need to be in a circus. My brother is one the trail now.He said he would have slapped the **** out of funny face at the NOC but he had braces on his teeth. These journals they are keeping publicly aren't funny. These are written by wierdo's,Period.
By time they get to Damascus see if your statement is still the same about these wierdo's

Sounds like they enjoy some of the shelters...quote from one of their photos.
"Shelters in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park are luxurious and this one looks picturesque in the winter landscape"
With 26,233 hits on their journal, a few of us seem to be enjoying our "stuck in a chair in front of the computer" hike that is shared with us!
I think most of this thread and posts are very green :D

these two are killing me. apparently every single item of food they came across was placed there just for them. whether they actually need it or not, they're going to supplement their 'meager' larder...i need to go back and finish reading the rest of these yahoos journal...

If I meet them and they pull any funny stuff with me, I'll make sure I get on here and let the Big Ozzy know it.........then you can tell me I told you so......blah, blah, blah.............

I met Pirate in 1993. He didn't thru hike that year. Nor did I. But I made Katahdin. Did Pirate?
All I'm suggesting is that neither retired newspaper reporters, nor Navy underwater specialists, necessarily hike as much as we would like people to think. As they say, HYOH.

I think this is partly what everybody is mad at them for....not for sucking, but for not knowing they suck.

Oh, I wasn't implying that the guy isn't a hiker. I was simply saying that it sounds like he put those two people on pretty good and they believed it.

I'm with the leave these folks alone group. I saw where they blasted Ron Haven early on and that seemed harsh and by all accounts unwarranted. They've been on the trail for a long time and looks like they will be for a while longer.
IMO she doesn't seem to be the "whineing princess" now that she appeared to be in the beginning. Maybe the trail is changing some of their outlooks on things. Coming to realize that the AT and all of the AT support is not there for her own personal pleasure...growing up.
