We are hiking in Duncannon this coming weekend, and meeting some people. Can anyone suggest a place to meet that is easy to find, as none of us have ever been to Duncannon before. Also where is a good place to leave the shuttle cars, as we plan to leave a car in Duncannon and shuttle back to PA Rt 850?

Thanks

Back parking lot of the Doyle Hotel http://www.doylehotel.com/ - just check in with Pat or Vickey inside first. If you get off either exit for Duncannon from 11-15 or 22-322 you will shortly be on Market Street which goes through the town square and the Doyle dominates the skyline from the town square.

If you don't like that spot there is a park-and-ride area on the east end of the 22-322 Clarks Ferry bridge. To get there from 850 you would add the walk through town and both bridges to your hike. For this park and ride you take the PA 147/Halifax exit, if you are westbound (i.e. outbound from Harrisburg) on 22-322 you turn left immediately from the offramp into the parking spots.

Finally the Rohland site http://rohland.homedns.org/at/state/state_detail/AT_state_detail.aspx?stateID=1%20&sectionID=9 mentions parking at the community recycling bins at the edge of town. If you get off the 11-15 exit you drive past the Ford dealership and then you will see a sign pointing to "recycling center." I don't get as good a feeling from this as an overnight parking spot but many do it. If you come out here you miss a roadaphobic PUD that avoids passing a few houses on the street before the recycling center.
