I look forward to meeting you!!! How tough would an after dark hike north from Snickers Gap be? Looks like I may be leaving my car there for a northbound section hike, and may arrive pretty late. Thanks for being the caretakers!

Coming your way next week. We start at Ashby Gap on Thursday and head north to Harper's Ferry. How are things looking up there now?

I haven't refreshed my memory on that section, but there's a few good ups and downs before you get to Raven Rocks, and then it's pretty easy stroll along ridge all the way to Blackburn. Look forward to your arrival! Make yourself at home in the hiker shelter - and if it's too late, we'll see you in the morning hopefully!

Ashman, weather's been drizzly and foggy that last three days. It's about 10 degrees less than forecast from DC. Supposed to be partly sunny a few days this week, but haven't checked out the weekend forecast yet. Make sure you stop in. The water is relatively low at the Lesser Shelter, but water can be pumped up still, you know. The hikers that were staying there the other night didn't have any trouble, they said. I've talked to several section-hikers that came through on their way to Harper's Ferry - sounds like everything is good to the south of us. The drought last year has done a number on all the water sources. Even with the recent rain, they are not back up to par yet.
Great to have new caretakers at the Blackburn Trail Center. I thank you both for taking the the job. I enjoyed my experience there during my thru hike, and I am sure the 08 hikers will enjoy their time with you both.
I am nobo 07 hiker trash. Our paths must have crossed but not sure if me met. I hiked with Tom-B, Evil Eye, M&M abd a bunch of others. Maybe you hiked south with my flip flopping friend Dirty Ernie.
