My friends and I are planning a 7-10 mile thru hike somewhere down South possibly.....possibly VA or NC......hoping to pass through or hike a mountain at the end....or possibly some rivers......and looking for somewhere non-touristy....any ideas would be insightful....thanks.

Well you can hike the AT for days and days. There are many places to stay or setup camp. You know you won't run out of terrain or trail.

However, in Virginia there are quite a few spots in North VA near Arlington and such. Besides the Outter Banks which is always a good time. (though it might be a bit chilly for that now)

I am wanting to do my next section hike either beginning or starting at the James River. I can help out with shuttling if we are going to be hiking during the same time. Next weekend is supposed to be very nice.
