Hey fellow WB'ers just wanted to say only 1 day + 11 hours until I get to ride the grey dog from Oklahoma City to the AT at Harpers Ferry.
Just doing up final food buying, laundry, and finishing packing up the backpack today. Since I've been a member of the WB Community, this 'ole dog has learned a lot of 'new' tricks and ideas (well, new to me since I last hit the trails) as well as meeting a bunch of really cool people.
I plan on only doing a personal journal for now, though will be taking a few pics along the way, which I will post sometime down the line. Looks like I may have to interrupt the hike for a possible medical board hearing in a couple of months, but till then, I will still do my flip-flop. Am I thru-hiking? Naw, just walking to see what I can see and if, in the end, I walk 2,175 +/-. then so be it :)
I wanted to say thanks to everyone here at WB that has helped me with their suggestions, taught me with their experiences, and generally made me feel good about being here (even if I was a smart *** on occasion). Hope to meet a lot of you in person on the trail.
