View Full Version : Looking for ride from DC on Mem. Day weekend
I'm looking for a ride on Friday evening or Saturday morning of Memorial Day weekend from the Washington DC metro area to either Harper's Ferry or Front Royal. It will just be me and a pack, and I won't need a ride back. I'll pay for gas, don't smoke or smell bad (since it will be the beginning of my trip), but am known for the occasional bad joke.

Amtrak does run service from Union Station in Washington, DC to Harpers Ferry, WV it's probably around $11. - one way for the memorial day weekend. Have fun and welcome to Whiteblaze.
It looks to me like Amtrak only has one train a day to HF - 4:05 PM. That's before I get off of work on Friday, and I'd kill a whole day of my short break waiting for the Saturday train. Thanks for the tip though, if I can sneak out of work early it might work.

My hiking partner took the train from D.C. to HF and he found it very enjoyable. Can't beat the price either.
