I'm planning to start my thru sometime late March 2009. As of now I plan to rent a car in Louisville and drive to the nearest rental location in GA, then catching a shuttle. I'll probably be staying overnight at a hostel somewhere near Springer. I'm looking for anyone from Kentucky or coming through Kentucky about that time that would want to split the cost of rental car/gas getting to GA.

Can't guarantee that date this early. I am a section hiker and have not done Springer yet. Possibly I can drive down and walk a week if you could pay for the gas down. Save you on renting a car. I live in E'town.

Thanks for responding. I'll keep that in mind. I'd be happy to pay for gas if it saved me the car rental. Keep me posted on if you can make that time frame.

If you decide on leaving early March and pass thru TN, come get me in Nashville. I'll gladly split costs. So far its Greyhound down, and shuttle to the point. I'm looking to leave March 1st.
