On my section hike two weeks ago from Winding Stair to the NOC (before Plantar Faciitis flared up 7 miles into the Hike; had to bail at Wayah Gap) I met a young mother and daughter that were thruing...the daughter was about 10-11 years old IIRC and they were strong hikers, I think the mother was Pearl and the daughter was Audrey or somethng like that.
Ron Haven probably remembers them as they stayed at Budget Inn before hiking with me.
They said they weren't journaling; too bad, I would have liked to follow their progress...rare to have a mother with a daughter that young out there.
Anyone seen them?

That is so cool!
And I hope they are at least keeping a journal for themselves. What an experience to look back on.

We saw the Mother daughter combo just south of the GA/NC border on May the 4th....Still hiking strong
If they are of Asian lineage, we saw them in Gatlinburg on 5/17 after dropping off a thruhiker we gave a ride into town to from Newfound Gap. He seemed to know them.

hey ben its RRG jeff...how was your section hike:-?
hope to get out hiking with ya again soon
The hike was great. We got rained on a good bit and got shafted out of the good views on Standing Indian Mtn and Albert Mtn, but that's really the only things I have to gripe about and really, I'm not even griping.
