Just wondering but is there any particular reason as to why there isn't a 2009 spring thru hikers section on here? It could have basic info such as name, starting date, how they're getting to springer, hometown, and whether or not they're looking for a partner ???

I think what you are asking about is a Class of 2009 Forum? I think Attroll usually sets those up, i.e. the Class of 200X. Send him a PM, as he may not see this thread.

Odds are I'm doing a NOBO thru in 2009, leaving Amicalola around Feb. 14th. I'd very much like to know who from WhiteBlaze is starting around the same time.

I've been waiting for this too -- haven't 100% committed myself, but still found the lack of a forum curious -- in previous years, it seems they put up the Class of 200x forum in March or sooner, and here it is May already.

Is whether we'll have an El Nino, La Nina, or neither weather pattern to contend with. That will indicate a LOT about cold weather running late or ending early in Spring, how rough compared with the average finding working water sources in PA/NY/NJ, how long before Katahdin is likely to get socked in for the season, etc.
