seems nice for the price/weight.. but man is that purple ugly.

Go to backpackinglight.com. Under the "Community" section they have reader reviews, and I'm pretty sure that you'll find reviewers for the TiGoat bivy (I'm thinking of getting one myself). Also, you can search through the forums there, where you'll find a lot of discussion about the pros and cons of various bivys (bivies?).
