The time approaches and captain is just about ready to hit the trail. I received my confirmation papers from Baxter and its go time, dont leave till the 29th, but no harm in getting started early. As it stands now i will have Surlylht (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/member.php?u=14750) and D-wreck (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/member.php?u=17705) and Kaelyn will be keeping me company on our celebratory first night in Katahdin Stream Campground, Lean to # 10 stop by and say hello if you'd like. and as usual i will be using the little " URGENT!" icon next to my thread for easy I.D. later

good luck on your hike...it would have been nice to hike with you before your sendoff since we live on the same side of the sity city and all...hope all goes well for you and maybe someday i will be able to put a face with the infamous captain..until i meet you in person for some reason i keep picturing you with a patch on your eye:p

well while taking a shower today i got conditioner in my eye and so its all red now does that count?

How you getting from KSCG to Roaring Brook? Its a ways.
you have it backwards going from roaring to KSC and as for now im plannin on heading down chimney pond trail then taking hamlin ridge up to the top then down the AT
I started the AT by going up the Saddle Trail from Roaring Brook when I was just about to turn 23. The Ranger at RB gave me a hiking stick that made it all the way to Springer.
But that was before you were born. :eek:

was going to ask how old you was but from your photo seeing you carry a EXTERNAL frame pack ,quite rare after the 90's gen ,and with flannel and a pine walking stick it rather answered that for me :D:D Thanks rick and if that happened to me that stick would be put above the fireplace. For now i will have to be content with my E.B. trekking poles they are targets equivalent of walmarts swissgear poles but i shall see how far they go they was a gift and they might not be lekis but they ARE better than nothing

warnigagy i shall remember that you are hiking behind me , At this point i am not going to waste money on everything uptill this point so im going yes, though there is no guarantee how far i will get i will try to make it to ATLEAST gorham but the largest part of it is beyond my control so we shall see

whatever happens i think it a bit premature to have the 2008 thru hiker avatar.......you havent even stepped foot on the trail yet and are doubting you will make it past NH...jsut sayin....have a great time in maine
