I just posted a photo in the gear gallery and I’m hoping someone familiar with the Leki “Triple Spring System” can tell me if this is the locked position?

I recently received these poles as a gift and I’m tempted to go back to my old non-spring poles because the springs aren’t staying locked out on climbs. Am I doing something wrong?

I work at an outfitter and never understood why they call this system
"Triple-Spring".

In my opinion it is just a double. The right side gives you suspension, the
left side gives you something that is almost locked but still leaves some suspension.

I like these poles nevertheless.

Personally, I agree with your temptation. I've had both kinds of Lekis. IMHO the "shock absorbing" feature is a gimmick. It's loud, heavy, hard to use, and "breaks."

I had them on my Lekis. They made no noticable difference, but did add weight and were noisy.

Springs Gimmick

Leki re-did their poles this year and did away with the triple spring. The new, "improved" version is the SAS- soft antishock system. Pretty much it is either on or off. Looks like the pole in the photo is in an in-between position. The nub is in the tall vertical slot on the right when the system is "on" and in the short vertical slot on the left when the system is turned off. The vertical slot is for switching on and off.
