If you havn't already, considering looking at the new MAPDANA sold by the ATC and now carried by a few other places. Profits are funneled back to the AT. Its a work of art with AT map Springer-Damascus and side-bar info compiled from Companion and Data book. Some minimalist may only take it to Damascus and apparently soon the "mapdanas" continuing from damascus on are forthcoming. Weighs .09 Lbs (1.44 ounces)

ATC ad for it:

The Mapdanna I -- NEW
Member Price: $11.00

It's the A.T. poster map! It's excerpts from the Data Book! It's extracts from the Companion! All on a cotton bandanna! The first in a planned series of four, the route of the Applachian Trail from Springer Mountain, Ga., to Damascus, Va., is shown, with mileages from the Data Book and supplies/services information from it and the A.T. Thru-hikers' Companion. Created and manufactured by AntiGravityGear under licenses from the Appalachian Trail Conference and the Appalachian Long Distance Hikers
Association.
