Haven't done it but getting interested, what with CA being on fire. ;)
The OR coast is beautiful but I remember a lot of ugly clear-cuts from the highway. Much of it resembles Hwy. 1 just north of San Francisco.
I can tell you in one three-letter word what the weather will be like between September and June...
