Any vandalism issues of late?
I would dislike losing the gas tank, or converter.

Specific. In general, also. Sorry to be vague. I poke around once I get the chance. Roland 07-11-2008, 11:15 I have not heard of any problems in the Rangeley/Stratton area. I will defer to those living closer to the area. Is this Woodsy's stomping grounds? Footslogger 07-11-2008, 11:29 It's a bit outdated and might have been an isolated incident but ...my wife and I hiked from Rangeley to Monson last August and as we arrived at the trail crossing/parking lot there was a car with its tires slashed. The owner had left his car there for a few days as he did some hiking and walked out of the woods as we were standing there. The person who shuttled us was kind enough to offer the guy a ride into Rangelely so that he could get the tires repaired. Unless he has gone on Flagstaff north kick. Thanks. Footslogger 07-11-2008, 18:04 [quote=mudhead;663495] Rt4? Just south of Saddleback? ================================ Yup ...MA 4 'Slogger woodsy 07-11-2008, 19:19 I have not heard of any problems in the Rangeley/Stratton area. I will defer to those living closer to the area. Is this Woodsy's stomping grounds? Kinda, Have not seen any police reports about trailhead vandalism in these areas in recent times. FWIW mudhead 07-13-2008, 05:19 Rolling to the top. Drifting to, how's bugs? woodsy 07-13-2008, 08:04 Deer flies are very aggressive in areas. Back to trailhead concerns. Thinking about gas prices and leaving an unattended vehicle in the woods for a day, two or three or week got me thinking about switching to a locking gas cap. When purchasing the cap, the guy at the register said hes been selling as many siphon hoses as locking gas caps. I wouldn't want to loose a half to full tank of gas or have to walk back to civilization from some remote area. mudhead 07-13-2008, 10:10 I got one of the locking caps. Some idiots are drilling tanks. What town did you buy the cap in? I'd like to know where a number of siphon hoses have been sold. (The mindset...) If Farmington, they could spread out. Unless they are stealing from their own worktruck. Don't understand people. woodsy 07-13-2008, 10:19 What town did you buy the cap in? VIP auto parts in Farmington. I'm sure they(siphons) are selling well in many areas Not trying to alarm anyone. Have not heard of any gas thefts at trailheads, just a precaution on my behalf. |
