Well I have to drive my grandmother to Maryland tomorrow and wanted to get in a few days.

Anything special I need to know about water sources? I am hoping they are decent :)

Thanks

IIRC, most of the shelters in that section had fairly reliable water sources, though Blackburn is a bit of a ways off the trail. Most of them were running well late last summer, and that's saying something.

Blackburn has a regular outside water faucet that should be reliable, near the door to the screen porch area. The water at the David Lesser shelter is aways down the hill. The scouts like that shelter and tend to camp right at the water source. When you cross the highway at Keys Gap you can go left down the road to a convenience store/gas station and get water and other drinks/snacks.

A bit off-topic, but Keys Gap and Snickers Gap both have good eats (and brew) just off the trail. :D

I went through that area this year, in May and it rained almost every day, so the water was flowing very well. The temps were also very cool, it even snowed in the mountains through SNP, snow was seen as low as Compton Gap, just north of US 522 (Front Royal).
