View Full Version : Shuttle Services in New York State
Have a friend that is 10 miles south of New York and is looking for a shuttle service in the area. I looked on the Shuttle article and see that there are no options for shuttles in the area. Hitchiking is also illegal.
Does anyone have any sources?
Thanks!

Not so in New York. Check the statute and definitions.
Public transportation is availableto many places.
Thank you for your assistance in trying to locate a shuttle for m friend in New York. I stayed at your place in Franklin during my thru attempt and I thought you were the bomb then. You truly are a treasure to those hiking the AT.

There are commuter trains heading in and out of Grand Central station every few minutes, that will take you to Poughkeepsie. There are bus lines heading south and west out of Port Authority (eg. Martz trailways.) There are New Yorkers on Whiteblaze that might have specific tips for you, or you could try the search functions... The easiest on/off might be at Bear Mountain.

Thanks for asking. I now realize that my message is not clear. She is 10 miles south of the New York state line.

I think that in most cases if you can hop a Metro train it will be one of the best bets for you either to the Harriman Station which is just south of the Harriman State Park. If it is easy for her to get into the city then she will have more options as to where to hit the trail but if she is down just south of the NY line in upper NJ meteo would be the most simple.
You guys rock! I knew I could get help here.
