Currently shopping around for a backpacking tent (under 4lbs) and have a pretty good inkling to buy the Eureka Spitfire II. I have used Eureka tents growing up with great success of durability and ease of setup. Had to ask the WB'ers tho and see if anyone has had a problem with this tent, any good success with this tent, or any other suggestions for lightweight, 2 person, and a budget of no more than $175, any feedback would be great. Currently I carry an REI Dome that I love because it is spacious, well vented with big vestibules, but it is 7-8lbs dry, wet it's oh my god why do I have this attached to me so it's being retired to car camping sites only.:D

I'm generally fond of Eureka tents -- I have many miles on mine -- but the Spitfire UL model was one which I purchased and quickly returned. My impression is that the regular Spitfire would be OK. Not the lightest choice, but serviceable.
I have the Spitfire II UL and have used it with success. It's very light and so far it's been durable. My only complaint is that it doesn't stake out as taught as it appears in the marketing photos. I also replaced the stock stakes with titanium stakes.
I'm considering moving to a Hubba because it's free-standing.

I also have my eye on this one although I might need an extra tarp for better rain protection, anyone use this one by chance??

I've read good things about both in the archives, it comes down to the compromises of single vs double wall, lots of screen vs no screen, vestibule vs more room inside, freestanding vs. not. I really like campmor's "click to compare specs" feature, in it they stack up pretty closely in size weight and cost.
