Well... Heres the trail report for the Wapack trail. It was a fantastic hike, didn't overestimate the mileage or conditions but we stopped short of our goal, we hiked a total of 17 miles of the 21 planned, but the last 4 miles was a ridge walk at 2000 ft and there were !Severe! thunderstorms in southern NH and northern MA today (hence, where we were) but we did not get hit with them for the most part, lucky, but if we had kept going it would not have been any fun for the end of a long day hike, so we called it short. Drove 2 hours home through massive flooding of streets and now I have iced everything, back to the olympics on TV Happy trails
note. Will post pictures of the Wapack trail probably tomorrow.

I was impressed as to the extent of trails for the xc skiing area... I am probably going to do a winter trip out there with Marje, do like a 2 night out and back with our skis and snow shoes...

The friends of Wapack might disagree. They've been looking after it since 1923.

I remember walking by that broken-down shelter on Mt. Watatic. Actually, it was so broken down that I didn't quite get that it had once been a shelter...
In typical fashion, while looking for the stone that marks the northern terminus of the MA Mid-State Trail, I think I ended up on the Wapack trail somewhere near the summit of Watatic... so I never did find it. All I know is that I've climbed Watatic twice, and there were two completely different "summit views" on those two trips.

Wapack Trail to Mid-state Trail in Massachusetts to North-South Trail in Rhode Island. About 180 (???) miles of hiking which puts you on the beach in RI. :welcome
Am hoping to take my son for a trip on the Wapack soon. does anyone know what conditions are?

Just a little bit seasonably muddy, the Wapac, and Mid State are both in great shape.
