question about sleeping pads

Hello all, I have a question about closed cell foam sleeping pads. If I were to lash my pad onto my pack do you think it's necessary to put it in a stuff sack to keep from getting wet? My thinking is that it doesn't asorb water and if it gets wet I can just wipe it down right?

You are right on all counts. It won't absorb water. A stuff sack would just add needless weight.

I'll also say you are correct. No need for stuff sack!
Also makes good umbrella and softens the impact of hail in a pinch.
