How many miles do you hike per day? I have hiked all of the foothills except from Bad Creek access trail to Sloan Bridge picnic area. I would be interested in hiking the entire trail again if you are looking for a hiking companion.

i have it mapped out for 7 days with like 11 to 13 miles per day
I have hiked it from Table Rock to Oconee. The map and book pretty much tell about all the camping areas. There may be others here and there but the one's in the book are for the most part near good water sources.
The Foothills trail is one of my favorite to hike, what time in November are you planning on doing this, I would also be interested in hiking it again.:)
These are two of the camping areas we stayed at. Looking at the pics again really gets me wanting to hike it again....................That's my son in the first pic and two of my other friends and son in the second. I'm always on the opposite side of the camera...........:)

I did it in seven days this past April . . . worked it out that I did almost exactly 11 per day. My report and info here may be of some help:

Got some pics in my gallery also! Should be a great late fall hike.
I recommend camping along the Chattooga River. Lots of nice spots. In fact, there are many places to camp along the FHT - with only a few limitations. Enjoy!

Favorite trail.
If possible, take the time to hike all the spur trails. You'll be glad you did.
Blue blazers glean more profit.
Thanks for the pics. Wonderful. I think I'll probably hike the Foothills before the AT in January. My firend Lucky Dog and I have always set our sights on the Foothills.

If you hike the Fork Mt Spur section you will get more river miles.
Great place to camp where Bad Creek empties into the Chattooga.
Another is at the Flintstone site. Rocks stacked for tables and chairs in a big curve on the river with a nice sand beach. About 1.5 miles upstream from Burrell's Ford Road. (This is part of the Chattooga/Fork Mt trail and you bypass it if you hike pure FT)
A really good place to camp futher downstream on the Foothills/Chattooga trail is just past Salt Trough (downstream side of Roundtop Mountain).
Great sand beach and a deep swimming hole. The river is loud here from the rock face on the Ga side.
A mile further is a rocky beach then Simm's Field. Both good places but can be busy.
Nothing on the water further down until you cross and select to take the Bartram/Chattooga Trail at Pigpen Falls.
Have a great hike.
