My dad and I are going for a trip friday afternooon - sunday late afternoon. The weather predicts scattered T storms on friday and scattered showers on sunday. So I definitely want to bring waterproofs just in case, but I don't have any right now. I don't want to go out and spend $80 on a jacket so can anyone suggest a cheap, light, waterproof jacket or pants if that is necessary? THANKS!!!

IMO, Frogg Toggs are one of the best deals around for rain gear. I'm not sure where to buy them except online. (Link here (http://www.froggtoggs.com/store/choose.asp?ItemNum=PA102&ItemColor=07).) There's a dealer locator on the Frogg Toggs website.

If you order them today they could arrive on time. Or check out the dealer locator (http://www.froggtoggs.com/locatedealer/) and see if there's a store near you that carries them.

Actually, I think that Walmart sells a version (Dri Ducks?). Similar concept and about $20 for jacket and pant. Do NOT go bushwacking with this or the Frogg Toggs.

I use generic Frogg Toggs with good results. I think Gander Mountain usually carries the real deal in stock.

I will have to check out the Dri Ducks. Great price. Tho I despise shopping at Wally World.

You could find a poncho for 20 bucks or so. A big trash bag with holes will work in a pinch, too.

Do you have a link to the silnylon poncho? I went to the http://www.academy.com site but couldn't find the poncho there. Did you buy it online?

Thanks.
