Water Pearisburg to Damascus

We will be hiking Pearisburg to Damascus starting near the end of October. Can someone please let us know what the water situation is?

I have been hearing how dry the western part of NC is and remember last year in Central Virginia.
Month and a half ... sounds too far off ... I like to think it is just around the next bend.
