Last time I went thru Bear Mtn. we resupplied about a mile up the road from the bridge. It didnt work out to well. I dont have my book with me or I wouldnt be asking, but are there any good resupply points just N or S of Bear Mtn for Long term?

Fort Montgomery is the one your thinking of and for now it is still the only real choice w/o a major detour. they are working on opening a Connivence store by the Graymoor Spiritual center but I have not heard if it is open yet or not.

...or you could send yourself a drop at the Bear Mountain Post Office. That's what I did in 2003. Worked well.

For this area that is one of the best ideas. Your just far enough away from things to really make it a pain in the arse.

Bear Mtn is just about in the middle (50-60 miles either way) of my resupply stops in Unionville NY and Kent CT.

You should keep in mind that once on the east side of the Hudson you have a number of Delis that are close to the trail.

Ya, Im planning to stop in Unionville and Kent, I guess a mail drop would be the best bet, I usually try to stay away from them but that shouldnt be to hard to pick up. We wanted to try to go more than several days without a resupply, but with more warm gear, I dont have much room for 5+ of food.
