Hi,
I am taking a large group camping the second week of October (in NH) and want to use my ENO hammock. I am worried that I will be cold and thought if I put my crash pad in the hammock with me I would be alright. I will be also using a sleeping bag, but don't want to spend tons on a hammock quilt.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I'm assuming you have some sort of pad (thermarest, CCF etc). Order a Segmented Pad Extender from Speer Hammocks, ensure that you order the correct size for the pad you have. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call Ed Speer, he answers his phone.

If you mean a rock climbing crash pad you'll be plenty warm, but the hammock will be unstable b/c the pad is so thick it'll raise your center of gravity. If you mean a sleeping pad designed for camping, you'll need to make sure it's wide enough to cover your shoulders, arms and hips. Test first. Lay with the pad in the hammock. If the hammock fabric is right next to your skin, it'll compress your sleeping bag and you'll get a cold spot there. Lots of pad users address that with the SPE from www.speerhammocks.com (http://www.speerhammocks.com/).
