The guys and I are planning a weeklong trip in mid December, and we're looking for an exciting loop along the Blue Ridge or AT in NC, TN, VA area. Any suggestions?!

The guys and I are planning a weeklong trip in mid December, and we're looking for an exciting loop along the Blue Ridge or AT in NC, TN, VA area. Any suggestions?!This isn't a loop but from Deep Gap to Fontana is a good week long hike.If you have several people hiking you could leave some cars at both ends.

Here's an idea for a really difficult loop:

1. Park at Standing Bear Farm hostel (he charges about $2 a day).
2. Hike the AT from there to Clingamons Dome.
3. Take the Mountains to Sea trail South from there until it meets the Benton Mackaye Trail.
4. Take the BMT back to Davenport Gap --> where it meets the AT.

It's probably too long/strenuous for a 1 week trip, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.
