just move dto Georgia and i planned a training hike this weekend to the CBT in north georgia. i'm taking my wife for the first time so i want to find a good spot to hang the hammocks. Anyone know a good spot?
We're heading in through Vogel and hiking counterclockwise. Gonna detour to blood mountain and back.

I have been a few times to the CBT. CCW is good especially if you are bringing a non hiker. How many miles do you want to do the first day? Between Calf Stomp Gap and Coosa Bald there are two spots. One is on the leeward side of the mountain and the other is on a ridge. The ridge is breezy but one of my favorites but no water there. If you continue on down to Slaughter Mountain there are some nice sposts as well.

Coosa Bald and Slaughter gap are two of the nicest camps.

have done this same hike in same direction with same detour, and we stayed up near the shelter at blood. enough trees to hang in up there...
