can we all go hiking one weekend near port clinton pa around thanksgiving? i heard on the hikevine trashgiving may bee held in gleencliff this year. if it is, maby on the way back south, some of us pa hikers could go hikeing with turkeys to eat on the pinnicle or theirabouts. my plan was to hike with the birds as packs. front legs neatly trussed around neck. rear legs around waist. and walah! we put our gear for the overnight in the cavity and hike. after ariveing we cook our packs, eat our turkeys and bolt. any one? tricks? we could do it at your cabin. sort of a trashgiving south if you will. not to compeet with the original.

The big question: are you hiking with the turkeys raw or cooked? You could cook them first and just heat them up when you get there...
Also note: last time I checked, turkeys only have two legs. ;)

Any 'hiker trash' out there interested in a weekend get together and hike on the Mid State Trail in Central PA let me know. I have a cabin located just off the Mid State Trail one mile west of R.B Winter State Park, in the Bald Eagle State Forest. If you've never hiked on the Mid State trail think of the 'AT' in PA on steroids. Cabin (old CCC lodge) holds 25-30 comfortably yep it would make a great hiker hostel and Trashgiving there is also possibility. Everyone's invited just decide on a date, nows the time. Matty get a crew together and contact me.
I think it would be easier to use live turkeys. Just keep them on a leash, and you could make a little pack for them so that they could carry boxes of stuffing and some baggies full of cranberries.
Don't forget to clip their wings though, or they could fly off with your whole dinner!
