Do you know Dr. Murray Hamlet from the Natick Army Labs? I don't know him personally, but for 20+ years the MIT Outing Club has had him give an annual lecture on hypothermia, frostbite, and other cold weather injuries during its January Winter School. Really knowledgable, and really an entertaining speaker, though some of the frostbite pictures are a little graphic. I noticed on the internet that he's selling some specialized socks (www.techspun.com) now.

I don't know anyone at Natick yet. But hopefully I will soon. I'm getting a new Hennessy Hammock to test before we go out, maybe I can steer those guys to getting the Hennessy as the new Army jungle hammock.
