I am looking for a hiking partner to hike the entire Appalachian trail southbound starting in July-August 2009. Anyone interested?

I am starting SOBO July 1st and as of right now I am solo...I am open to hiking with someone though

When I was standing at the summit sign on Katahdin, posing for my "starting the Trail" photo, who should hike up, but someone I had "met" on Whiteblaze.

The AT is a very narrow world, and the SOBO community especially so. If you camp in or near shelters, you will quickly find other SOBO hikers.

Was hiking the Georgia AT last week and two guys round the switchback coming toward me. The leading guy looks up... says " Hi " then..." Hmmmm you look familiar " Hey yea... You're MoBill ! I read your Alabama Pinhoti Journal "

I will probably be SOBO starting around July 1.

However, my start date keeps shifting ... From early June to mid-April now to July. This date looks more firm though, as I will likely have a hiking guide commitment through much of May in Guatemala.

I'm heading out August 15th. I'm up for whatever. See y'all out there.
