I finally found some at the Umatilla Pharmacy. It is located on Hwy 19 next to the Pizza Hut.
The pharmacist said I was the third person that day to come in and buy it for chiggers. The others were hunters. She is keeping it in stock. This stuff really works.

You know the "Chigg-Away" product? It's mainly just sulphur powder...

Yes it does, works to keep the ticks away also. Mix it 50/50 with baby powder and it cuts the smell and stays on a little better. Works on Fido also.

Ah Umatilla... I loved that town when I lived in Astor...

Sulphur powder works good if you can handle the smell.

I have been using this stuff for years being a surveyor I'm in the woods and tall weeds a lot. I got my last bag of it at the local flea market here in Lovely Mount Dora. Think it cost me 2 or 3 bucks it gets put on my waist and socks works Great every time.

That is by far the most unique and interesting post I have ever seen on WB... Know you know. But KK, you must admit it took a great man to admit to his son he wears pantyhose in the woods. I wonder how that conversation cropped up.

There's comedy in the post above - I bought Chig Away at the local Flea Market.....

Ok. Panty hose....at least if I try that, it wont seem so funny!

Indwlkr....where in Mt. Dora are you? And what is it you bought at the flea market? Chig away or sulphur?

Well, if I was ever going to get the chiggers, it would be today. We hiked for some distance through thick palmetto bushes. Saw a pigmy rattler sunning right on the trail in front of me. Somehow, Trailtalker and Bluegill walked right over/past him. I saw him and stopped and went to point my stick at him and he went under a log. That was the first snake that I have ever seen hiking here in on the FTA. We will know tomorrow if the "crop dusting" worked:D

Just how vile does this smell?

I find standard baby powder to be pretty gross, so if it helps the odor of the sulphur powder...

We do have more ticks in Maine, so this is a serious question.

Mud, I was surprized. I mixed it about 1/2 and 1/2 with lavender talc and I couldnt smell it.

Pantyhose and tights help with circulation, support, and warmth. If you’re
in a job where you are sitting all day or find yourself always on your
feet, your legs can become tired and achy from poor circulation.
Wearing No nonsense pantyhose, tights, trouser socks or knee highs help
provide compression which can reduce swelling, improve circulation and
energize leg muscles. Sit or stand longer with less fatigue, pain and
discomfort.
Men working or enjoying outdoor sports wear No nonsense hosiery to help
energize legs and protect them from fatigue, cold, chaffing and injury.
Get warmth without bulk. Hunters and military men write to tell us they
prefer No nonsense tights to keep ticks and chiggers from getting under
their skin....
do i you want to meet the WOMAN who's panyhose fit me. :-? ..........

Lots of foresters and hunters wear pantyhose to keep the ticks
off.It has been a generally accepted practice even amongst the
most macho types in the south. It's not considered a problem until
camisoles and garter belts work there way into the equation.:D

Lots of foresters and hunters wear pantyhose to keep the ticks off.I heard hunters only start wearing them after their wives find a pair in their pack after they return from a weekend in the woods.
