Sheila,
Great to hear you want to try a ULA Catalyst. I wanted to offer some feedback on the packsize with regard to your torso length. I would suggest trying a medium Catalyst first. Now 18-18.5 is bottom of torso size suggestion (sm 16-17, MD 18-20). There will be some variance based on where you carry your hipbelt.

Once upon a time I was measured at an outfitters--18". When I actually went out to get an ultralight pack--a Medium I thought--I was remeasured at MRO for my Catalyst as 16.r ". Instead of a small hip belt the sales guy put in a medium hipbelt and voila! Perfect fit for a great, small, bag!
